They say I say

“as a result” talks about how you should make your sentences connect. and went over the use of transitions ” you need not only to connect your sentences and paragraphs to each other, but also to mark the kind of connection you are making” Transitions help your readers or audience know if you are “echoing a previous sentence or adding something new” says the author. The use of pointing words is another way to connect parts of a sentence or paragraph is using words like “those” “their” and “such” for an example to help structures connect. You should also try and repeat key terms and phrases so your audience can fallow what you are trying to get across to them. You should aslo repaet yourself but with a difference which means repeating what you ssaid but with a slightly different way to avoid being montone says the author.

“you mean I can just say it that way” says that you can blend academic and colloquial styles by saying something and then quoting it afterwards to give it a unique style. You can also use a translation recipe which is ” state the point in acedemic language, then translate the point into everyday language.” says the author so You would have to state the authors sentence and then put it in your own terms so your audience that you are targetting can understand what you are saying. You can use self translation as well which is claifying others or even clarifying yourself on what was said. You should use everyday language as a thinking tool so you can further your knowledge on how to do it for your readers.

“but dont get me wrong” You can use metacommentary to clarify and elaborate sometimes no matter how clear and direct you can be your readers can still take what you are saying and it not be how you meant it. Using metacommentary wil help you develope new thoughts and ideas by writing down everything that you think when reading something or brainstorming.

“he says contends” “one of the most imporatant writing process is revision” says the author. Repeat what the other person says. and that you can disagree or agree. You can introduce naysayers which is other people that may disagree too. Check if you used metcommentary to clarify what you do or dont mean. Checking if you tied everything together in transitions well. And then check if you have shown why your argument matters in the first place. These are important steps to take to revise any paper or essay so your readers or audience will have the ability to posssibly understand you.

In the chapters I learned that it is possible that readers may not understand you. So you should think about the revision steps more so you have a complete revised paper.
